Medical Education Faculty Lead
Dr Marc Davison qualified from University College and Royal Free Medical School in 1997 where he gained his MBBS and a BSc in Psychology. He pursued his anaesthetic training in London before becoming a Consultant Anaesthetist at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in 2007.
Marc has had a long standing interest in Medical Education and has completed both practical and theoretical courses in this field including a Certificate of Medical Education from the University of Dundee. Since becoming a Consultant, he has held a variety of different roles in Medical Education; clinical and educational supervisor for doctors-in-training, mentor for new consultants and Foundation Training Programme Director responsible for over 100 foundation doctors in the Trust.
Currently Marc is Director of Medical Education and Associate Medical Director for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Honorary Senior Lecturer for the University of Oxford and Honorary Treasurer of Medical Education Leaders UK; a members’ organisation supporting & representing local leaders who deliver medical & dental education in the four countries of the UK.
The undergraduate team from the Medical Education Department at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, with the support from the Leadership Development team, conducted the first Leadership Development Skills Workshop for undergraduate students.
Attended by Omar Sagripanti (Leadership Development Manager), Dr Matthew Size (UG DME), Dr Marc Davison (DME), Marc Johnson (Board Affiliate) and Dr Murray, Dr Bhojwani, Dr Peiris, Dr Vellacott, Dr Hamilton, Dr Sanghvi (Education Fellows), among others.
The workshops began with an icebreaking session on the first day and throughout the develop of the different topics many activities, dynamics, discussions, debates and activities were spread-out aimed to make the training sessions pleasant and enjoyable. The participants had the opportunity to experience and interact on topics such as motivation, communication and teamwork, among others.
