Let's Talk About Vaccines (LTaV)

The UK is currently experiencing a significant decrease in vaccine coverage and an increasing risk of vaccine-preventable diseases. This is not only apparent in our patients and service users but also in our frontline health care workers. 42.8% of all frontline health care workers in NHS trusts with direct patient care received the influenza vaccine in England: a decrease of 7.1 percentage points compared with that seen in the 2022 to 2023 season (49.9%).   • What is vaccine hesitancy?

    Vaccine hesitancy refers to delay in acceptance or refusal of vaccination despite availability of vaccination services.

    Vaccine hesitancy is complex and context specific, varying across time, place and vaccines. It is influenced by factors such as complacency, convenience and confidence. 

  • How are we supporting organisations with vaccine hesitancy?

    We are supporting many organisations across England using proven coaching and communication tools to support interactions between all care providers and the people they care for by enhancing their knowledge and confidence, so more conversations about vaccines occur.

All of the training is fully interactive with opportunities to practice techniques, discuss experience and approaches with peers and colleagues and reflect on your practice.
