Health and Social Care Cadets Programme
Empowering future careers through hands on experience and community connection
Now in its sixth year, the Cadets Programme is a collaborative initiative led by the Buckinghamshire Health and Social Care Academy, Buckinghamshire College Group, and our valued private and voluntary sector partners.
This programme offers real-world work placements for students currently undertaking Health and Social Care qualifications, helping them gain confidence, build skills, and explore future careers in the sector.

“This is fantastic - they are such a lovely group and have obviously enjoyed the whole experience immensely. I think this will really inspire our students to apply for the cadet programme next year!"
- Buckinghamshire College Group
“We’ve learned so much during our time here. It was really good to find out what the council and companies offer vulnerable adults”
- Social Care Cadet
“It was lovely to see the change from nervous, timid people when they arrived to animated and smiling people when they left. I am keen to do the best we can to make it a positive experience for any students or placements we have in the future.”
- Epilepsy Society
"I really enjoyed learning about the different areas of work in the Council and the days at Epilepsy Society and White Leaf were great.”
